The award-winning Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club is now starting disability only sessions.
Thanks to Funding from County Durham Community Foundation, the club has been able to buy specialist wheelchair friendly tables and specialist equipment such as Pollybats.
The sessions will be led by coaches who have undertaken disability training to better understand differing needs of people with varying disabilities.
Matt Porter, Club Chairman said, “We’re very pleased that, thanks to the support of County Durham Community Foundation, we were able to buy the specialist tables and equipment. Table Tennis is an inclusive sport, anyone can play with anyone, and now we are able to run disability sessions to bring even more of the community into the club and the sport.”
Sessions start on Thursday 2nd April from 5pm to 6pm with the first session free and £2 per week thereafter.
