Shildon drugs bust couple in custody

A Shildon couple were given a personal wake-up call this morning (Friday, 15 May) when officers from the local Neighbourhood Police Team, supported by officers from Dog section and Road Policing Unit, executed a drugs warrant in Regent Street.

The occupants were asleep in bed when officers broke down the door of the premises.

Following a search a significant quantity of tablets were recovered from the address and a 49-year-old man and 50-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

The pair remain in custody where they are helping officers with their enquiries.
