Ferryhill Town Council is again offering local school children the opportunity to enter a free Drawing Competition.
“Now that Easter is over,” said a spokesperson, “the Town Council would like to hear from local children, and are inviting them to send us a drawing of their favourite Easter Egg.
“Children are encouraged to be as creative as possible.”
Pictures will be judged in two age groups: 4–7 years and 8–11 years, by the Town Mayor of Ferryhill, Cllr Joe Makepeace and the Deputy Mayor of Ferryhill, Cllr Jacqueline Cansella.
Parents are asked to take a photograph of their child’s picture and email it to kyounghusband(at)ferryhill.gov.uk with details of their child’s name and address, age and a telephone number that they can be contacted on, by no later than 12 noon on Friday 8th May.
Pictures will be posted on Ferryhill Town Council’s Facebook page and the winners announced the following week.
The two winners of the competition will each be emailed with their prize of a £10 Amazon Voucher. Participants entering the competition will receive a free chocolate Easter egg for their efforts subject to availability.
The Mayor said: “I am really looking forward to seeing the range of pictures that Ferryhill’s super talented children produce.
“It is a very difficult time for people right now, and it can be especially difficult for parents, trying to keep their children occupied while the Schools are closed.
“Hopefully, by providing this activity, the competition will assist parents who are struggling to find activities to fully engage their children.”
