As a part of a national initiative, Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club will host a community open day at Bishop Barrington School in Woodhouse Lane, Bishop Auckland, starting at 10.30am and running until 2.30pm on Saturday 24th August, to get more people active in the local community through table tennis.
Inspired by the achievements of Team GB athletes and the amazing efforts of local community heroes, ‘I Am Team GB’ with Toyota have brought back, the Nation’s Biggest Sports Day to get as many people as possible active in their communities.
“With hundreds of free and fun activities taking place all across the country, Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club is proud to fly the I Am Team GB flag in the Bishop Auckland area,” said club chairman, Matthew Porter.
“The Community Open Day will see free and fun table tennis based games happening such as table tennis twister and the chance to challenge the table tennis robot to see if you can beat it.
“You will also be able to challenge, or just have a fun hit around, with some of the top coaches and players in the area.
“We are so pleased be part of I Am Team GB,” he added. “Sport brings communities closer together and we are immensely proud at Bishop Auckland TTC to be part of this nationwide celebration of sport and how we pride ourselves on our community spirit.”
