On Saturday 9th June, over 30 dancers from Ferryhill’s New Dance Generation took to the stage at Durham’s Gala Theatre in The Big Dance Showcase.
The event was held to celebrate County Durham’s dance talent and over ten dance schools from across the area participated, showcasing routines in lots of different dance styles.
New Dance Generation took dancers as young as five years old to participate in the event, performing street dance routines they had been working on in the studio at Ferryhill Sport and Education Centre.
The event was a great success and was supported by over 70 New Dance Generation parents, family and friends.
“The children loved performing in such a large professional theatre and it was a fantastic opportunity for them to do so,” said Hannah Wilkinson, principle at New Dance Generation.
“They worked so hard in the run up to the event and I was very proud of their effort, dedication and performance.
“Huge thanks to our amazing supporters who raised the roof off the Gala theatre!”
As summer approaches, the dance school is getting ready to celebrate another year of success at their annual awards night, before breaking up for the school holidays.
After the holidays, New Dance Generation will re-open its doors in September with a new timetable packed with dance classes in lots of styles, including street dance, lyrical, commercial, freestyle, STREETbabez and tumble tots.
