Chilton’s Gareth Brown has completed his 2,000km charity cycle ride from the Baltic Sea in Poland to the Adriatic Sea in Croatia, raising £1,738.79 in aid of research into prostate cancer.
The 28 year-old, whose father was diagnosed with the disease ten years ago, has financed the epic 5-week cycle himself.
He said: “With it now being 10 years since my Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer this means a lot.
“He is fighting fit now and I’m very thankful for everything that Prostate Cancer UK are doing to support this cause. Approximately 1 in 8 men in the UK will get prostate cancer in the UK at some point in their lives, therefore donating whatever you can would certainly go towards helping a lot of families. Thank you in advance.”
There’s still time to help Gareth reach his target of £2,000. Simply visit Just Giving and search for ‘Gareth Brown’, before choosing your donation amount.
Just £10 pays for one hour of a research assistant’s time, providing valuable support in laboratory settings and helping research projects run smoothly.
