Fantastic & Strange: GCSE Students’ art exhibition

The Greenfield Community College GCSE art exhibition is coming to Shildon Civic Hall on Wednesday 17th July.

Students from Greenfield Community College have completed their GCSE courses and have had their work verified for marking, so it is now the community’s opportunity to see the amazing and inspiring work created by the creative young people.

Laura Peaker, Subject Leader for Visual Arts at Greenfield Community College Sunnydale campus has been inspiring her students during the year and working with pupils from across local primary schools.

She has been inviting them to visit the Sunnydale campus to engage in planned workshops on digital photography and image editing that feeds into the exhibition.

The exhibition showcases the diverse and imaginative work created by these talented students and the show enables them to exhibit their work in public for the first time.

The exhibition will visit Shildon Civic Hall on Wednesday 17th July, when local primary schools will visit and meet the Town Mayor, Cllr Peter Quinn.

The exhibition will be open for public viewing from 2pm until 7pm.

“Please come along and help us celebrate the unique and distinctive art work created by our exceptionally talented children and young people,” said a spokesperson.
