On a windy morning, Ferryhill Town Youth U12’s and Barnard Castle played a cracking match.
The game started with Ferryhill playing with the wind behind and in a half of limited chances because of the weather, both teams battled the conditions.
Sol proved a constant threat up front for Ferryhill, going clean through a few times with the keeper doing really well to keep him out.
Barnard Castle had a lot of corners which the Ferryhill defence dealt with very well and the sides went into the break level.
Barnard Castle took the lead straight from the second half kick off, but Ferryhill didn’t give up and battled against the wind to keep the visitors at bay.
With time running out, Ferryhill broke away and the ball fell to Neil in the box who smashed it past the keeper with just two minutes to go.
Barnard Castle then won a free kick on the edge of the Ferryhill box and the last kick of the game was brilliantly saved by Tyler to secure the draw.
With everyone playing superbly, man of the match was awarded to Jack Wilson.
