Dancers Donate Charity Funds

Mark Solan collects £600 for the Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust from Joanne Banks and her school of dancers

THE JOANNE Banks Dancers of Spennymoor have been busy this summer raising money for cancer charities.

In memory of Alison Maddison and Ian Larnach, two parents of pupils at the dance school who sadly lost their battle with cancer this year, the dance school choreographed a special routine which was performed at their show, Versions at Darlington Hippodrome in July.

Audience members, families at the school, pupils and friends donated a whopping £1,200 and this was divided between the families chosen charities; Solan Conner Fawcett Family Cancer Trust and the Marie Curie Cancer Charity.

Pictured is Mark Solan, from the trust, and Joanne Banks with members of The Joanne Banks Dancers staff and pupils at their Performing Arts Summer Camp. Mark was collecting the £600 donated to the trust.
