Following the huge success of their last panto, Aladdin and recent ghost play, After Eleanor Died, Bishop Auckland Theatre Society (BATS) are back for 2018, bringing you their adaptation of Beauty and the Beast – the classic, timeless story of inner beauty.
When an enchantress visits the castle of an arrogant prince, he and his staff fall under a terrible spell that can only be broken by true love’s kiss.
After her father vanishes en route to the market, Belle, the strong-minded small town girl (living in a lonely world) sets out to find him – only to discover that a hideous beast has taken him prisoner.
With the help of the castle’s servants, Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs Potts, can Belle draw out the Beast and prove to him that beauty on the inside is what really matters?
With a production promising lots of laughs, lots of music and lots of silliness, theatre goers are set to fall in love all over again with the beautiful story of Beauty and the Beast.
Tickets for the show, taking place over three evenings at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 January are just £8. The curtain lifts at 7pm and there is a special extra afternoon performance on the Saturday at 2.30pm for younger panto lovers.
In addition, BATS are looking for local businesses to advertise with them in their programme. The programmes have a wide readership and are competitively priced.
