Students at Greenfield Community College have been queuing up to get involved in this year’s school production.

Competition for every part in the new production has been fierce and the standard of performance has made for some very difficult decisions as judges have been forced to choose from such a talented pool of performers.

It will be very difficult to live up to last year’s show We Will Rock You, which proved to be a great success, mostly playing to full capacity.

Last April, the school put together a show stopping performance, bringing together dance, music and drama to create five performances of the hit West End musical, which features songs by rock legends, Queen.

Students from both the Newton Aycliffe site and the Shildon Sunnydale campus took part, working and rehearsing for months to bring the show together.

Families and friends were amazed at the overall professional feel of the school production, which showcased some exceptional talent both on stage and behind the scenes.

The audience, which included the town Mayor, were highly complimentary about the performances.

One audience member said: “I brought my son to see the show. Can I just extend my congratulations to everyone involved. The whole production was outstanding, it was full of energy, pace and was a delight to experience.”

A spokesperson for the school said: “Staff and students at Greenfield worked very hard to achieve such success and are busy laying the foundations for another great show.
