Supporters walk from Tan Hill to Dean Street

Four members of Shildon AFC Supporters Club walked 30 miles on Sunday in aid of charity.

Tom Clegg, Wilf Tray, Adrian Humble and Amanda Scaife set off from the Tan Hill pub, famously the highest Inn in Britain at 732 feet above sea level, at 6am and walked back to the Shildon Football Club ground in Dean Street.

At the end of the nine and a half hours walk they received well earned applause from the crowd attending the Supporters Club Family Fun Day and Real Ale Festival at the ground.

Some frothy samples from the festival helped refresh the walkers who, between them, have raised around £1,500 for their chosen charities: the Alzheimer’s Society, the Teesdale Branch of Cancer Research, and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
